Racing: Claudia Künzel (GER) in second place
Claudia Künzel (GER, Fischer) was second in todays Pursuit in Oberstdorf (GER). At the finish she was just 6.7 seconds behind the Canadian Beckie Scott. The German was able to strengthen her third place in the Overall Worldcup and said satisfied: "it was still a pre-race for the Olympics, I was in much better shape than last week."
Katerina Neumanova (CZE) finished third ahead of Valentina Shevckenko (UKR, Fischer) in fourth place.
Julija Tchepalova (RUS), Arianna Follis (ITA), Viola Bauer (GER) and Stefanie Böhler (GER, all Fischer) completed the successful Fischer-result with places six and eight to ten.
The leader in the Overall Worldcup, Marit Björgen (NOR, Fischer skis and boots), was not at the start, because Norway and Finland held their National Championships at the same time.
In the mens race Tobias Angerer (GER) and Anders Soedergren (SWE, Fischer) fought really hard. In the finish Anders Soedergren was beaten by just 0.4 seconds.
The surprise of the day was Martin Tauber (AUT, Fischer). The Austrian missed the podium by just 2.1 seconds and finished fourth. He was really happy, because this means for him that he has qualified for the Olympics.
The Swiss Reto Burgermeister (Fischer) was also remarkable with his tenth place - he is back in the top ten.
