Racing: Four-fold victory with Fischer skis and boots
Four athletes with Fischer skis and boots were the best in the Nordic Combined in Lahti (FIN). Hannu Manninen (FIN, Fischer skis and boots), Felix Gottwald (AUT, Fischer skis and boots) and Jason Lamy Chappuis (FRA, Fischer skis and boots) were the Fischer trio on the podium, shortly followed by Mario Stecher (AUT, Fischer skis and boots) in fourth place.
The jumping part was cancelled because of strong and changing winds. Therefore the "pocket jump" from Thursday was used. So Hannu Manninen started in twelveth place just 45 seconds back in the tracks. The 31 year old Fin took the lead and kept it going until the finish. The winner was happy afterwards: "This was my last race this season and I have to say that it was really amazing for me. I achieved unbelievable results over the last months and I enjoyed every moment."
Felix Gottwald started the cross country race 1:32 minutes back. Thanks to the best skiing time the cross country specialist improved up to second place and was likewise satisfied: "I'm happy to have achieved a podium place in Lahti, it is a venue I like."
Jason Lamy Chappuis completed the Fischer podium in third place. Already the winner of the Overall World Cup he was beside himself with joy: "I had a great season and I have had a lot of fun today. When you compete in the yellow bib it is easier to give all you have."
With Mario Stecher in fourth place, as well as Anssi Koivuranta (FIN, Fischer skis and boots), Seppi Hurschler (SUI, Fischer), Akito Watabe (JPN, Fischer skis and boots), Bernhard Gruber (AUT, Fischer skis and boots) and Jan Schmid (NOR, Fischer skis, boots and poles) in sixth to tenth place respectively a total of nine Fischer athletes made the top ten.
