Racing: Three questions for Olympic Champion Justyna Kowalczyk (POL)
Fischer: What does it mean for a country that is not traditionally strong in Cross-Country to win Gold at the Olympics? Justyna Kowalczyk: I think that this is very good for Cross-Country skiing that we have more good countries. It is great that we have new good girls. We are working exactly the same, like in Scandinavia. We have good service teams, good coaches, train in the same places. It's good for Cross-Country.
Fischer: What about your tactics for the race? Justyna Kowalczyk: This condition is good for me because the snow is slow. This is much better for me than for Marit (Björgen). My tactic before the race was to be very relaxed for 20 km and then fight. The girl from Norway (Björgen) was attacking for the last five kilometres, if I was to go after Marit I would be very tired.
Fischer: Do you think you wanted the Gold medal more than Marit Björgen? Justyna Kowalczyk: I don't think so. I think that Marit also wanted to win this medal, the Gold. I think I was a little bit stronger, nothing more.
